Mumbai, July 3 (IBNS): The Tiware dam in Ratnagiri in Maharashtra was breached that resulted in the death of two people, media reports said on Wednesday.

The incident left 22 others missing.

The dam breach caused a flood-like situation in seven downstream villages, with as many as 12 houses near the dam being swept away, reported Times Now.

Searching operation to locate the 22 people are going on.

Officials of the civil administration, police and local volunteer reached the spot to carry out the search operation.

At least 21 people were killed as Mumbai received the heaviest of rains in the last 24 hours since the 2005 deluge.

The rains have crippled traffic and flooded the airport forcing cancellation and delay of flights.
