Maharashtra: MNS-BJP clash over mango stalls, 2 held

Thane, May 10 (UNI) Two people were arrested in connection with a clash between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over mango stalls.

The incident occurred on Thursday night as mango farmers have put up stalls, under supervision of MNS activists, in the vicinity of Vishnu Nagar area, near BJP's party office.

The BJP corporator argued that the stalls blocked the footpath and it was not place to sell fruit, which triggered a clash. the situation went out of control, police resorted to a mild lathicharge to disperse the mob.

An offence is registered and further investigation was on.
