Maharashtra: Teenager held for abducting boy in Thane

Thane, Mar 3 (UNI/IBNS) A 17-year-old girl was detained for allegedly kidnapping a boy in this district of Maharashtra for a ransom of Rs 6 lakh, police said on Sunday.

The boy had gone to attend tuition classes on Saturday evening but he did not return.


The complainant, a tailor by profession, told police that she received a call demanding a ransom of Rs 6 lakh for her son's release.

Acting on the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused was arrested.


During interrogation, the accused said that she had got her clothes stitched from the complainant.


The accused is lodged in a remand home.
