Maharastra: Two money-lenders held in abduction case

Kolhapur, May 11 (UNI) Two private money-lenders were arrested on charges of abduction and threatening a youth on Saturday.

According to Juna Rajwada police, Ranjeet Baburao Patil (29), resident of Kirve village of this district, had taken a loan of Rs 10 lakh from money lenders-- namely Suraj Hanmant Sakhari (28), and Rushabh Sunil Bhalkar (21) on 20 per cent interest.

Of the Rs 10 lakh, five lakh was back repaid, however, Ranjit, the youth, was unable to pay the remaining amount. As he was not ready to clear the loan, they abducted and detained in Bhalkar's resident and took land documents forcibly from him on Tuesday.

Ranjit approached the local crime branch on Friday, and police swung into action and nabbed both the moneylenders, police said.

A criminal cases under IPC section 364(A), 365, 386,387,34 and under state money land act section 34,42 and 45 is registered against them, they added.
