Major fire breaks out at Parliament premises
New Delhi, Mar 22 (IBNS): A major fire broke out within the premises of the Parliament on Sunday afternoon.
The fire began in an AC power plant, which is on the periphery of the Parliament complex.
However, the main Parliament building has not been affected.
According to reports, a short circuit in the AC power unit may have ignited the fire.
Ten fire engines were rushed to the spot. The fire is now under control.
TV channels showed thick smoke billowing out of the building.
"The fire broke out around 2:21 pm. It was reported at around 2:38 pm. 10 fire engines responded. It is under control," AK Sharma, Director, Delhi Fire Service, told NDTV.
