Male: Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday congratulated Indian PM Narendra Modi for initiating the COVID-10 vaccination drive a day before.

"Congratulations to PM @narendramodi  and the Indian government for its landmark program to vaccinate India’s population against COVID-19," the President tweeted.

He expressed his hope that Modi will be successful in completing the measure.

" I’m highly confident that you’ll be successful in this endeavor and that we are finally seeing an end to the COVID-19 scourge," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the world's biggest Covid-19 vaccination drive in India, which is one of the worst Novel Coronavirus-hit countries.

Modi launched the drive virtually as almost three crore health workers will be prioritised from the drive in its first phase.

A total of 3006 session sites across all states and union territories were connected for the launch.
