Mamata Banerjee tweets on her third anniversary as West Bengal CM in her second term

Kolkata, May 27 (IBNS): It has been three years since Mamata Banerjee took oath as the  West Bengal Chief minister  for the second term in 2016 and on Monday she recalled the incident by posting a tweet on the issue.

"On this day in 2016, the Maa-Mati-Manush Government took oath of office for the second time. People of #Bengal reposed their faith on us, with a massive mandate. We are thankful to them, and will keep working for them in the days to come. Bangla Hobe Biswa Sera," she tweeted.

Banerjee posted the tweet at a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party registered a strong result in the state in the Lok Sabha polls.

BJP clinched 18 seats in the state.

The Trinamool Congress managed to win 22. The ruling party is down by 12 seats from its 2014 tally of 34.

This was the best performance of the BJP in the state in the Lok Sabha polls.

In 2011, Mamata Banerjee and her TMC came to power in the state by beating the Left Front government.
