Mamata reinstates Virendra as Bengal DGP, Jawed Shamim as ADG Law & Order

Kolkata/IBNS: Shortly after taking oath as West Bengal Chief Minister for the third consecutive term, Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday reinstated IPS Virendra as state DGP and IPS Jawed Shamim as the ADG Law & Order, officials said.

According to reports, these two senior IPS officials had earlier been removed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) before the Bengal assembly polls.

Meanwhile, EC appointed ADG Law & Order, Jag Mohan, and DGP, Nirajnayan Pandey, have been posted in Civil Defence and in Fire and Emergency Services respectively.
