Kolkata, May 30 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remembered filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh on his second death anniversary on Saturday.

She said Ghosh's death was a huge loss for Bengal.

"On this day two years ago, we lost Rituparno Ghosh. His passing away was a huge loss for Bengal. He is our pride. We miss you Ritu," she tweeted.

The iconic filmmaker, who had enthralled audiences with his celluloid gems and gave Bengali cinema a new language in the post-Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen era, died in Kolkata May 30, 2013.

He was 49.

Ghosh burst into the Bengali film world with his 1994 film Unishe April and then directed Dahan and went on to make films like Titli, Bariwali, Dosar and The Last Lear starring Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta.
