Maoist landmine kills 7 cops in Gadchiroli
Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, May 11 (IBNS) At least seven policemen were killed and two other got injured in an attack by the Maoists in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli on Sunday, reports said.
9:40 am when the cops were travelling for an operational task in the forest between Pavimuranda and Murmuri villages in Chamorshi taluka of the district.
The injured have been airlifted to Nagpur.
Meanwhile, additional reinforcements of security personnel have been sent to the area following the incident.
Gadchiroli district is one of the Maoists affected areas of Maharashtra which witnessed several deaths in the past from such attacks and encounters.
