Mary Kom takes oath as Rajya Sabha member

New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS): Olympic medalist boxer MC Mary Kom on Tuesday took oath as Rajya Sabha member.
After taking the oath, Mary Kom said she will serve the country both as a boxer and parliamentarian.
 
She is right now preparing to qualify at the Olympics.
 
Following her oath, cricketer Vijender Singh tweeted: "Congratulation @MangteC become MP #ProudBoxer #Respect."
 
Mary Kom is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships.
 
She is also the only Indian woman boxer to have qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, competing in the flyweight (51 kg) category and winning the bronze medal.
