Match-fixing: Shiv Sena accuses BJP of horse-trading in Maharashtra

After Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari had refused to give extra time to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress to form government, Gadkari, who is also a Union Minister, said anything can happen in cricket and politics. Sometimes the team which feels losing ends pulling up something different, Gadkari had said.

Countering the minister, Sena in an editorial of its party mouthpiece Saamana said as quoted by NDTV, "In cricket, the game of manipulation and fixing has begun... so there is doubt about the victory. Therefore, it is okay for Gadkari to compare the political game in Maharashtra to a thrilling game of cricket."

Meanwhile, the Sena, NCP and Congress have reportedly chalked out a common minimum programme and sealed a deal to form the next state government giving light to the end of an unprecedented political stalemate in Maharashtra despite people voting the Sena-BJP alliance to power.

As per media reports, the Chief Minister's post, which was the reason behind the severing of ties between the two saffron parties, is likely to go to Sena while NCP and Congress will have to be satisfied with the Deputy Chief Minister's post.

Though NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik had said a Sena leader must be the Chief Minister, party chief Sharad Pawar let the cloud prevail saying, "We will think about it."

After Pawar's meeting with Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, the three parties are likely to meet the Governor to stake claim to form the government.
