Mauritian PM Pravind Jugnauth offers prayers at Baghlamukhi temple

Kangra/UNI: Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth on Wednesday visited Baghlamukhi temple at Bhankhandi in Dehra sub-division of this district and paid obeisance there.

Amid tight security, Jugnauth, 57, arrived at Kangra airport along with his wife Kobita Ramdanee at 0830 hrs for a day-long visit to pay obeisance at Baghlamukhi shrine. He was received by Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati and other senior police officers here.

After arriving here, the Mauritian Prime Minister straightway drove to Baghlmuki temple at Bhankhandi which is believed to be from Mahabharta era and have mystical powers that is why the dignitaries and celebrities visit this shrine.

His wife Kobita Ramdanee had visited the temple four months back and now had brought her husband Pravind Jugnauth to the shrine. Pravind Jugnauth assumed the office of Prime Minister of Mauritius on November 12, 2019 after his wife visited Baghlamukhi temple four months back.
The couple arrived in the temple at 0900 hrs and remained busy with havan, religious anusthan and other religious activities for two hours. He had pooja in the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple before the deity.

Chief Trustee Mahant Rajat Giri presented a ‘Chuni’ and photograph of Baghlamukhi Devi as a mark of blessing for the visiting Prime Minister. Giri later on told UNI that Prime Minister had performed Havan and Anusthan for the fulfillment of his political aspirations.

Jugnauh had his breakfast in a hotel at Kachairi in the outskirts of the town and later on he flew back to Delhi in the afternoon.
