Mayawati not to hold meetings with anyone: BSP

| @indiablooms | May 20, 2019, at 01:42 pm

New Delhi, May 20 (UNI): Ending the suspense over Mayawati's meeting with opposition leaders in the national capital, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Monday said that its chief will not be holding any meetings with anyone.

Talking to reporters here, senior BSP leader SC Mishra said, 'Our leader is in Lucknow and there are no programmes or meetings scheduled in Delhi today.'

There was speculations of the BSP supremo meeting UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi ahead of declaration of results on May 23.

To forge a grand alliance and keep NDA at bay, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had met scores of opposition leaders in Delhi besides Mayawati in Lucknow. He had also spoken to his West Bengal counterpart regarding the same over phone.

On Sunday, all the exit polls gave NDA a clear majority and that could be a reason for postponement of opposition leaders meet in Delhi.
