Medium intensity IED goes off in Imphal commercial hub

Imphal, Oc 29 (IBNS): A medium-intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off at Mahatma Gandhi Avenue, the main commercial hub of Imphal, on Saturday early morning, according to media reports.

No casualty reported, the media said.

More details awaited.

On Oct 24, Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Singh was the target of suspected militants when he was getting off his helicopter at the Ukhrul helipad.

The suspected militants had opened fire but the CM escaped unhurt. A Manipur Rifles jawan was injured.
