Agra, Sep 25 (IBNS): A six-year-old girl was buried alive allegedly by her stepmother in Agra in Uttar Pradesh, reports said.

Sources said Archana, 22, had buried the minor girl alive on Sunday and then told her husband, who was priest at a local temple, that the child went missing.

Later on Wednesday, she reportedly confessed to the crime in front of her nephew who informed the police. Archana was arrested and booked for murder charges.

The body of the girl was exhumed and a piece of cloth was found stuffed into her mouth, sources said.
