Modi: Congress could not complete work in 70 years, how can I do it in 5?
Patna, Apr 2 (IBNS): Kicking off his election campaign in Bihar after the announcement of poll dates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that he never claimed to have completed all work and will need another term to accomplish them.
Speaking at a rally in Bihar's Jamui, Modi said, "I never claimed to have completed all my work. When they (Congress) cannot say so in 70 years, how can I make that claim in just five years? A lot of work has to be done and for this, there is a need for constant efforts. And for this, I also need your blessings."
This is Modi's first visit to Bihar after the schedule of Lok Sabha elections was announced by Election Commission on March 10.
Attacking the Congress party, Modi said: "Terrorism, prices, violence, corruption, black money rise when the Congress comes to power and the country's prosperity, its credibility, the morale of the armed forces, respect for honesty declines."
Polling for the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections will begin from Apr 11.
The final phase of voting will take place on May 19.
Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
