Modi govt finalises 4 Governors: TV report
New Delhi, Aug 26 (IBNS): BJP veteran and former Uttar Pradesh CM Kalyan Singh is likely to be the new Governor of Rajasthan, NDTV channel reports said.
According to NDTV sources, Narendra Modi Government has finalised the name of new Governors in 4 states.
Apart from Rajasthan, Governors of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka are also finalised and likely to be named soon.
According to reports, noted writer and former president of BJP Mahila Morcha, Mridula Sinha, will take the charge of Goa.
Speaker of Gujarat assembly Vajubhai Radubhai Vala and former central minister C Vidyasagar Rao will take the charge of Karnataka and Maharashtra respectively.
The post of Karnataka and Rajasthan's Governor remained vacant after former Law Minister H R Bhardwaj and Margaret Alva had completed their five year tenure recently.
On the other hand, Maharashtra Governor's post fell vacant when Governor K Sankaranarayanan resigned in protest on Monday after he was transferred to Mizoram.
Similarly, Goa Governor's post fell vacant when former SPG chief B V Wanchoo put in his papers last month.​
