Modi speaks to Uddhav; Geete takes charge
New Delhi, May 28 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and resolved the ongoing protest over allocation of portfolio to Anant Geete.
According to reports, after Modi's phone call, Shiv Sena's lone minister in the new Cabinet, Anant Geete, took charge of the Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Ministry.
On Tuesday, Geete had refused to take charge of his ministry and demanded a change in his portfolio.
"It is not a big issue. Geethe has taken charge. In a family there are differences. Moreover, our alliance with the BJP is not for power but for Hindutva, like Balasaheb (Thackeray, Shiv Sena founder) had said," said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi said the party is upset with only one portfolio being allotted to it.
"We are definitely upset, but certainly not at loggerheads with the BJP," said Joshi.
Reports on Wednesday said Shiv Sena might be given more Minister of State posts in the coming weeks.
