Modi vows to make India corruption free

| | Aug 20, 2014, at 12:17 am
Kaithal, Haryana, Aug 19 (IBNS): Vowing to make India a corruption free country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the nation has been ruined by the selfish attitude of "Mera Kya, Mujhe Kya" towards corruption by the people.
Speaking in poll bound Haryana where he laid the foundation stone for the Kaithal-Rajasthan border section of National Highway 152/65,  Modi said, "This menace of corruption is so dangerous...it can destroy the nation. I can see that the nation can't bear injustice any longer."

He said: "Mera Kya' and 'Mujhe Kya'...this has ruined the nation. We need to free nation from corruption."

Congress-ruled-Haryana is going for Assembly polls this October. Ahead of which, Modi tried to woo the people on Tuesday by saying that Haryana always occupies as special place in his heart.

He said, "Haryana has a special right over me. Be it the State or Central Government; let us work together for the development of Haryana."

"I will return your affection with record development. I know Haryana as much as I know Gujarat. I have a learned a lot from Haryana and it is a matter of pride for me that I have come from the land where Swami Dayanand Saraswati was born," he said.

From Kaithal, Modi again reiterated his visions which he garnered to build "Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat".

While speaking at the rally, Modi once again pitched his voice for bringing development through better infrastructure.

Modi said, "A nation that gives impetus to infrastructure be it roads, rail, airport, that is where chances of development increases. When the road network increases, the avenues of development increase too. Like we have arteries in our bodies, we have roads in our country, they act as arteries.”

Tuesday's visit is Modi's first in this state after he assumed the charge of the Prime Minister's office. Also present at the occasion was Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who gave a brief speech.

Meanwhile, media speculations suggest  that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might end its alliance with Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) and fight the elections alone in the state.

Although BJP bigwigs are tight-lipped about it, the absence of Kuldeep Bishnoi or any other HJC leaders at the event gives a clear signal of what is to come.
