Modi will be in jail if Lokayukta comes to Gujarat: Rahul

| | Apr 27, 2014, at 06:01 pm
Botad/Devgadh Baria, Gujarat, Apr 27 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would have landed up in jail, had there been a Lokayukta in his state.
"There are no Lokayukta and RTI Commissioners here. In other states, you will find Lokayuktas but in Gujarat there is no Lokayukta, the authority which catches corrupt leaders," Rahul said while addressing a rally in Gujarat.

"The day Lokayukta is constituted here...the day when RTI commissioners are appointed, your chowkidar (watchman) will go inside jail," Rahul said.

Earlier, his mother and Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi at an election rally in Punjab said, "God save India from the Gujarat model of development."

"God save the country from this sort of model," said Sonia Gandhi. "It has many problems," she said.
