Modi will give new slogan 'Beti Bachao from BJP men': Rahul Gandhi

| @indiablooms | Apr 24, 2018, at 12:18 am

New Delhi, Apr 23 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched an unsparing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a number of issues that have fueled the political battle between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and principal opposition Congress in recent times.

Addressing his party workers at Save The Constitution campaign on Monday, Rahul said: "Modi will give new slogan now. Only Beti Bachao. But Beti Bachao (Save Girls) from BJP and BJP men."

Rahul took a dig at PM Modi's urge to his party men to refrain from making comments that add spices to media to exaggerate incidents.

"Narendra Modi is only interested in Narendra Modi. Electoral victory is his only focus" he added.

On the day when opposition's impeachment motion against Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra has been rejected by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Rahul made the allegation that the top court is under pressure of the central government.

He said: "The Supreme Court has been pressurised. For the first time, the four senior judges are crying for justice for the first time.

"BJP and RSS won't be able to touch the Indian constitution. We will not make that happen. We will never allow the BJP & RSS to destroy our Constitution. The people of India will speak their "Mann ki Baat" in 2019 "

The impeachment move has its genesis in the public complaint made by four senior judges of the top court- Justices Jasti Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph-  that cases with far reaching consequences were assigned to selective judges.

Justice Chelameswar, who represented the four judges in an unprecedented press conference, said they had approached the CJI with a letter but failed to convince him.

The motion by the opposition came in the wake of the Supreme Court (SC) judgment on Thursday, which dismissed the demand for an investigation into the death of CBI judge BH Loya.

The Congress VP also attacked the BJP for its anti-Dalit activities. "In his book "Karmayog", PM Modi justifies manual scavenging by calling it a "spiritual experience" for the Valmiki community. This speaks volumes about his anti-Dalit mindset."

He has accused the BJP-led government of destroying the country's reputation, which took 70 years to be built up by Congress, in just 48 months since assumption of power.
