Modi's auctioned suit that fetched Rs. 4.31 crore enters Guinness as most expensive suit sold ever

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IBNS) : Even though he faces Rahul Gandhi banters for heading a "suit boot ki sarar', the 'sartorial delight' worn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi now makes a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive suit, reports said.

The monogrammed suit that Modi had worn during his meeting with US President Barrack Obama and triggered a debate in social media and political circle, made further news when it went for auction in February, 2015 to fetch a staggering  Rs. 4.31 crore.

It is now being dubbed the 'most expensive suit sold ever' to make it to the Guinness.

The navy blue suit with Modi's name in full in golden stripest was sold to the highest bidder, Laljibhai Patel, a diamond baron and private airline owner based in Surat after an intense auction.

The money collected from the three-day auction was  assigned for the Prime Minister's campaign to clean the River Ganga.

The suit was auctioned along with over 400 other gifts  Modi has received since becoming Prime Minister.
