Moga: Gang of vehicle thieves busted

Moga, Apr 22 (UNI) The Jalandhar police on Monday arrested two persons with a stolen car by cracking a gang of vehicle thieves in the state.

On a tip-off, the police swung into action and laid a checkpoint in Moga. While checking a car and enquiring the documents, the driver turned the vehicle to the other side and tried to flee from the spot.

The police party fired two shots and one of them hit the rear tire of the car.

All the four accused tried to escape and the police party with the help of villagers over powered two of them identified as Jagtar Singh and Jaskaran Singh.

Two others identified as Joyti of Kotkapura and Karma of Moga managed to escape from the spot and the police launched a massive search operation to nab them.
