More than 20 lakh people will be infected by Aug 10: Rahul Gandhi warns govt

New Delhi/IBNS: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday said over 20 lakh of 130 crore people of the country might get infected with Covid-19 by Aug 10 if the spread of the disease continues at its present pace.

Rahul said the government needs to take concrete and planned steps to stop the pandemic.

Witnessing the highest single-day spike of 34,956 cases, the total number of Covid-19 cases in India touched 10,03,832, as per data released on Friday.

There are 3,42,473 active cases in India at present.

With 687 new deaths recorded, the death toll due to the highly infectious disease now stands at 25,602.

So far, 6,35,756 people have been cured.
