Mumbai: 4 killed in road accident

Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Four people were killed on the spot while one injured when a truck ran over them in Vikhroil park site area here, police said.

The accident occurred on Thursday at 2330 hrs when the truck, while trying to take a turn, toppled due to under construction work of a manhole.

Five people, who were standing on the spot, were hit by truck. Four people died on the spot while one person sustained injuries in the incident, police added.

The deceased were identified as Ashwin Hiware (32), Vishal (22), Abdul Hamid Sheikh (42), and Chandrashekar (40).

The injured is being treated at government-run Rajawadi hospital, police said.
The truck driver was arrested.

Investigation was on, police added.
