| @indiablooms | Jul 03, 2018, at 12:05 pm

Mumbai, Jul 3 (IBNS) At least five people sustained injuries after a part of a bridge collapsed in Mumbai's Andheri on Tuesday morning, media reports said.

The cause of the collapse is suspected to be heavy rain.

The accident also forced commuters to wait for long hours as the Mumbai suburban local train service was badly hit.

Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office tweeted to say, "CM @Dev_Fadnavis spoke to @CPMumbaiPolice and BMC commissioner on #GokhaleBridgeCollapse incident. CM asked CP to ensure smooth traffic movement and also asked BMC commissioner to increase frequency of BEST buses for convenience of commuters."
