Mumbai building collapses amid heavy rain; 1 dead, many feared trapped

Mumbai/IBNS: One woman died and many are feared trapped as a portion of a four-storey building in Mumbai collapsed on Saturday, media reports said.

The front portion of the second and third floors of the building, which is located in Grant Road, collapsed this morning.

Authorities have said 4-5 people are still stuck under the debris.

About 40 people were present in the building during the collapse.

A part of the building's front portion is still hanging creating panic among people.

Firefighters, police and ambulances have been rushed to the site.

The building collapsed at a time Mumbai is battered by heavy monsoon rains.
