Mumbai: Four die in road mishap on Expressway

Mumbai: Four people died and as many seriously injured after their car rammed into the divider near Khambale Shivar in Sinnar taluka on the Nashik stretch of the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway in the early hours of Monday.

According to police, the incident occurred when the Toyota Innova car was on its way to Shirdi from Mumbai. Prima facie, a tyre burst leading to the vehicle going out of control and ramming into the divider.

The deceased have been identified as Razzaq Ahmed Sheikh (55), Sattar Sheikh Lala Sheikh (65), Sultana Sattar Sheikh (50), who died on the spot, and Faiyaz Dagubhai Sheikh (40), who succumbed to injuries in a nearby hospital.

While four other occupants of the car received serious injuries and were hospitalised in Shirdi.

A case has been registered and police concerned are probing the incident further, the official added.
