Mumbai: Online sex racket busted, 3 held

Mumbai/UNI: The city police on Sunday claimed to have busted an online sex racket with the arrest of three men for allegedly cheating people across the country through escort websites.

The racket was busted after a police team raided a residential premise near a famous hotel in Colaba area of south Mumbai on Saturday.

Two women, both aspiring models, and a minor girl were rescued from the spot, police said.

Police have seized 6 mobile handsets, a memory card, condom packets and Rs 11,660 cash from the arrested men.

The kingpin, who allegedly operated the site, is at large.

A case under sections 370, 370(a), 372, 376, 34 of Indian Penal Code along with sections 3, 4, 5 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and sections 4, 6, 8, 10,17 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered by police, sources added.
