New Delhi, Jun 25 (UNI) Lone Naga MP in the Lok Sabha Tokheho Yepthomi has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to 'expedite' the Naga political negotiations to settle the insurgency related issue at the earliest.

Yepthomi, who belongs to NDPP, raised the issue in the House of People on Monday while participating at the debate on Motion of Thanks to President Ram Nath Kovind's address, party sources said here.

"I would like to urge upon the Leader of this House, the Prime Minister of India, to kindly

expedite the Naga political negotiations and to settle the issue at the earliest," he has said.

Yepthomi also said that in the Presidential address, "nothing‍ has‍ been‍ mentioned‍" about‍ the‍ law‍ and‍ order and the insurgency problems in the north east.

"But a mention has been made about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and Naxalites," the Naga law maker pointed out.

Referring to the Citizenship Amendment Bill, Yepthomi also maintained that before this Bill is brought forward by the new NDA regime once again, Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah must "deliberate on this issue with all the Chief Ministers of the North-Eastern States to have a smooth passage of this Bill".
