Narada sting: Trinamool Congress to hold internal probe

| | Apr 09, 2016, at 09:31 pm
Kolkata, Apr 9 (IBNS): The ruling Trinamool Congress on Saturday announced that it will conduct an internal inquiry into the Narada News sting operation case, nearly one month after the news portal released sting footage, showing TMC leaders taking bribes.
TMC's Secretary General Partha Chatterjee said during a press conference here: "When our party has declared candidates list for West Bengal assembly election 2016, oppositions are conspiring against our party and releasing such sting videos. We have decided to hold an internal investigation into the matter."

"Trinamool also has few sting footage. If we disclose those, many leaders of opposition parties will get trouble. But we will not reveal these. Because we don't believe in such dirty politics," Chatterjee added.

Since March 14, news portal- Narada News- released several sting operation footage, where TMC's leaders, ministers, MPs and MLAs were exposed while allegedly taking bribes.

From the beginning, TMC leaderships had claimed that the sting footage was doctored and conspiracy of oppositions.

Meanwhile, a division bench of Calcutta High Court, comprising of Chief Justice Manjulla Chellur and Justice Arijit Banerjee, will pass an order on Monday, deciding to whom or which agency, Narada News authority would submit sting's raw footage.
