Hyderabad, Mar 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Narender Modi kick-started the BJP's Lok Sabha poll campaign in Southern India on Friday with a call to vote for a "New India".

Addressing a well-attended public meeting in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, he asked the people to exercise their franchise on April 11 not just to elect an MP or Prime Minister but for a 'New India' which will also reflect the dreams and aspirations of the people of Telangana.

Mr Modi started his speech saying "this chowkidar" has come to the people seeking their blessings adding that their blessings in the past had enabled him to serve as Prime Minister during the last five years.

Listing out the various schemes launched by the government for the benefit of different sections of the people including women and farmers, he assured that he would leave no stone unturned to convert the dreams of the Telangana people into a reality.
