Narendra Modi condoles death of writer Buddhadeb Guha

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the death of  Bengali writer Buddhadeb Guha.

In his tweet, Modi wrote: "Shri Buddhadeb Guha’s writings were multifaceted and displayed great sensitivity to the environment. His works were enjoyed across generations, particularly among youngsters. His passing away is a big loss to the literary world. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti."

Buddhadeb Guha, the storylines of whose several works were set in forest, passed away here Sunday. He was 85.

He died suffering a massive cardiac arrest at 11:25 pm, his family said.

Guha died due to post-COVID-19 complications.

He was earlier admitted to hospital after getting infected with the virus back in April. He remained in a private hospital for 33 days.
