Narendra Modi congratulates people of Jammu and Kashmir after inclusion of Srinagar in UNESCO Creative Cities Network

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi has wished people of Jammu and Kashmir after Srinagar city was included in UNESCO Creative Cities Network list with a special mention for its craft and folk art.

He said it is a fitting recognition for the vibrant cultural ethos of Srinagar

" Delighted that beautiful Srinagar joins the @UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) with a special mention for its craft and folk art. It is a fitting recognition for the vibrant cultural ethos of Srinagar. Congratulations to the people of Jammu and Kashmir," Modi tweeted.

Jammu and Kashmir Youth Development Forum (JKYDF)  Farooq Ganderbali said: " Indian city of #Srinagar in Kashmir has been inscribed as #UNESCO Creative City of Art & Craft. Only city from India to make it to the list. Finally the hard work of

is getting paid. A big boost to art & craft of kashmir valley & will open new opportunities now!"
