ED Raid
'Nasty Home Minister!': Mamata slams Amit Shah after ED raids IPAC office and firm head Pratik Jain
Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday called Union Home Minister Amit Shah a “nasty and naughty Home Minister” after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the office of her political consultancy firm IPAC and the residence of its head, Pratik Jain, in Kolkata.
Hours after ED officials began the searches, Banerjee, in a dramatic move, rushed to Jain’s Loudon Street residence along with Kolkata Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar Verma. She was later seen coming out of the house carrying some files, hard disks, laptop and Jain's phone.
Speaking to reporters while leaving the premises, the Chief Minister launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of misusing central probe agencies to target the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Alleging that officials were attempting to seize TMC documents, Banerjee said, “They were trying to seize my party documents. What will happen if I do the same with the BJP?”
Taking a direct swipe at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the TMC supremo referred to him as a “nasty and naughty Home Minister”.
After leaving Jain’s residence, Banerjee rushed to IPAC’s office in Salt Lake Sector V, where she collected some files through her security personnel and placed them in her car.
