New Delhi, Feb 16 (IBNS):  Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, a member of The Kapil Sharma Show,  has been directed to leave the show following his remarks on the Pulwama terror attack incident which had triggered a storm on the social media against him.

According to media reports, he will now be replaced by actress Archana Puran Singh.

“His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana,” a source told The Indian Express.

Sidhu was earlier quoted as saying by The Indian Express newspaper: "Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”

Netizens started criticising the Punjab leader following his remarks.

Spokesperson, BJP Mumbai,Suresh Nakhua said: "BOOM Sidhu sacked from @SonyTV's The @KapilSharmaK9 Show after comments on Pulwama attack  ."

Netizen Sonam Mahajan tweeted: "After Sony TV, it is Congress’s turn to set an example. Retweet if you want @Capt_Amarinder to remove Navjot Singh Sidhu from his cabinet. There are already demands of action against Sidhu within the Punjab Congress unit itself. Let’s unite against terrorists & their apologists."

One Geetika Swami said: "#NavjotSinghSidhu Navjot Singh Sidhu right now :) #SackSidhuFromPunjabCabinet #SackSidhu."

Netizen Rahul Kaushik posted: "BIGG victory for all! @sherryontopp sacked from The @KapilSharmaK9 Show after comments on Pulwama attack."

Netizens are also demanding the Punja CM Amarinder Singh to remove the ex-cricketer and Congress leader from the state Cabinet.
