Naxals call for bandh in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli

Nagpur, May 17 (UNI) The Naxals in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district have called for a bandh on May 19 to protest the killings of two fellow women in an encounter last month,sources said.

According to sources,on Thursday banners and pamphlets were put up in Jambhiya and Gatta villages of Etapalli taluka at several places mentioning the encounter of Ramco alias Kamla Manku Narote and Shilpa Durga.


Ramco was the Divisional Commander of the Gatta Dalam and one of the most dreaded Naxal commander wanted in the states of Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and Telangana.


The slain woman ultra was the wife of infamous Naxal Bhaskar Hichkani,who is also on the most wanted list.


The banner alleged that Ramco's killing was a fake encounter by the security forces.
