Nayab Saini takes oath as Haryana CM

| @indiablooms | Mar 12, 2024, at 11:08 pm

Hours after Manohar Lal Khattar resigned, Nayab Saini took oath as Haryana's new Chief Minister on Tuesday.

Khattar resigned following a crack in the BJP-Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) alliance over seat-sharing talks for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Khattar may be fielded as a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections by the saffron party, some reports have claimed.

JJP, the party led by Dushyant Chautala, allied with BJP after the 2019 assembly elections.

In the last parliamentary elections, the BJP had won all 10 seats which were up for grabs in the state.

Who is Nayab Saini?

Saini is an MP from Kurukshetra and an OBC community face.

He was appointed  as the state president of Haryana BJP last year.

After he was named as the new CM of Haryana, he thanked Indian PM Narendra Modi and BJP leadership for selecting him for the post.
