No deal with Pegasus spyware maker NSO Group, says Defence Ministry

New Delhi/UNI: Amid raging controversy over Pegasus, the Ministry of Defence on Monday said that it had no transaction with Israeli spyware maker NSO Group Technologies.

“Ministry of Defence has not had any transaction with NSO Group Technologies,” Minister of State (MoS) Ajay Bhatt said in Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

The reply came to a pointed question from MP and CPM leader V Sivadasan asking whether the Government had carried out any transaction with the NSO Group Technologies.

The ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament has been marred with repeated disruptions and adjournments with the Opposition demanding a discussion on the Pegasus issue as well as a parliamentary probe.

Though the government has pushed various Bills in both the Houses of Parliament there has been very minimal or discussion over them. Both Zero hour and Question hour have been a virtual washout with Opposition members protesting over the Pegasus issue.
