No Output on ISIS trying to Gain Ground in Kashmir
New Delhi, Nov 26 (IBNS): There are no intelligence inputs that Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is trying to gain ground among the youth in Kashmir.
This was stated by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to Motilal Vora in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
However, some youths have unfuried the flags of ISIS in Srinagar on a few occasions during the last 2-3 months.
Interrogation of youth in these cases indicates that they had seen ISIS related literature on social media and were fascinated by it.
None of the youths were associated with any terrorist / militant organizations.
The Government is closely monitoring the situation and has directed the intelligence and security agencies to identify all such elements and keep a watch on their activities.
The Cyber-space is also being closely scanned in this regard.
