No private university in UP can allow anti-national activities on campus

Lucknow, Jun 19 (IBNS): Passing an ordinance, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has made it clear that no private university in the state can allow any anti-national activity on the campus, media reports said.

The Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Ordinance (UPPU) was cleared on Tuesday.

The state government also upheld that the objectives of the universities will be to promote national integration, secularism and social harmony.

The government can also take action against any university if they permit anti-national activities or allow them in the name of varsities.

The UPPU will also regulate fee structure and improve quality of education.

The cabinet has also cleared an endowment of Rs. 5 crore which will help the students to complete their education if the university get defunct in the middle of the session.
