Novel Coronavirus in China: Indian Embassy in Beijing cancels Republic Day event

Beijing/IBNS:  Amid the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus in China, the Indian Embassy in Beijing on Friday said it has decided to call off the Republic Day reception scheduled to be held on Jan 26.

"In view of the evolving situation due to the corona virus outbreak in China as well as the decision of Chinese authorities to cancel public gathering and events, @EOIBeijing  has also decided to call off the Republic Day reception scheduled to be held @EOIBeijing on January 26th," the Embassy tweeted.

The Embassy also issued an advisory to travelers from China visiting India.

The number of people, who died from the outbreak of the new type of coronavirus, has risen to 25, with the number of confirmed cases having reached 830, China’s National Health Commission said on Friday, reported Sputnik News Agency.

“The number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in 29 Chinese provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) has reached 830, 25 people have died,” the commission said in a statement.
