Odisha: Helper detained for raping a minor girl inside the bus
Puri, Jul 9 (UNI) Police have detained a helper of a private bus on the charge of raping a minor tribal girl in Puri town late last night.
Kumbharapada Police station IIC said the girl was allegedly raped inside a private bus late last night.
The IIC said, both the victim and the accused would be sent for a medical examination.
Police swung into action after some people saw the girl crying near Sharadhabali in Puri town and informed the Police.
Police registered a case and inquiring into the incident on the basis of the statement made by the girl.
The IIC said the girl from Keonjhar district works in a water park near Malatipatpur in the outskirts of the Puri town.
The girl had gone to her native village and was returning to her work place after spending her leave.
The victim girl who boarded the bus from Keonjhar was to get down at Malatipatpur but she fell asleep inside the bus. By the time she woke up the bus had reached Puri.
Since there was no bus to Malatipatpur in the night, the bus helper told her to sleep inside the bus.
But late in the night, the helper allegedly raped her.
