Tehran, Apr 10 (Xinhua/UNI) At least one was killed and three others were injured in a police helicopter crash in West Azarbaijan province in northwest of Iran on Wednesday, the aerospace commander of Iran's police told semi-official Fars News Agency.

The victim was one of the pilots and the injured people were the border guards who are in critical condition, Sardar Mostajeran was quoted as saying.

Mostajeran did not elaborate on the total number of the people on board the helicopter.

He said that the cause of the accident was a technical problem in the chopper.

Earlier on the day, Mojtaba Khaledi, the spokesman for Iran's Emergency Organization, told Iran's Labor News Agency (ILNA) that the helicopter crashed in Dalamper mountains near Urmia, the capital city of the province, at 1158 hrs local time (0728 GMT).
