One militant killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Oct 21 (IBNS) One terrorist was killed on Thursday in an encounter with security forces about 55 km off Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, reports said.

The encounter in  Manzimpora village took place when a joint team of police and Rashtriya Rifles was conducting  a search operation on a tip-off about the  presence of militants in the area.

The encounter is still going on.

The identity of the militant killed is yet to be known and further details are awaited.
