Kolkata, Mar 5 (IBNS): Challenging the BJP, West Bengal Chief Minster Mamata Banerjee on Monday said if the ruling party targeted Bengal then her TMC will attempt to capture  'Red Fort'.

She inaugurated several   projects for Purulia district on Monday.

He said: " Some people say their target is Bangla (Bengal). We say our target is ‘Lal Kella’ (Red Fort). Chalo Dilli Chalo."

Targeting BJP, Banerjee said Bengal will never allow politics of riots.

"Bengal never bowed her head before anyone. Bengal always leads the way. Let them catch up with us and then talk.It is a crime to pit people against each other. Inciting religious riots, creating divisions is unacceptable.Bengal never allows the politics of riots. We want people to prosper," Banerjee said.

Banerjee said her party works to serve the people of the state.

"Our work is to serve the people," she said.

Mamata Banerjee has backed her Telegana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao's call for a non BJP-Congress National Front ahead of the 2019 General Election, media reports said.

Banerjee reportedly told Rao that her party TMC will back the idea of the front to bring about a qualitative change in national politics.
