Overloaded tourist boat sinks in Madhya Pradesh's Bargi Dam; at least 4 dead, several missing

At least four people were killed after a tourist boat carrying 31 passengers sank in the Bargi Dam area of Jabalpur  in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, media reports said.

The vessel, reportedly overloaded, went down shortly after setting off, triggering panic among those on board.

Rescue ops underway

Local residents and authorities rushed to the spot and launched rescue efforts.

So far, 15 people have been pulled out alive, while search operations continue for several others still missing.

Officials said the rescued are under medical observation.

More details are awaited as the rescue operation continues.
