Overstay of Pakistani Nationals in India rise

New Delhi, Nov 26 (IBNS): The overstay of Pakistani nationals in India has increased substantially during the past few years.
This was stated by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to Dr. Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu in the Rajya Sabha  on Wednesday. 
 
Between the year 2012 and 2013, there has been increase in the total numbers of overstaying Pak nationals in the country.  As on 31.12.2012, a total number of 12,137 Pak nationals were overstaying in the country.  The number increased to 15,028 in December, 2013 i.e. an increase of 2,891 which comes to 23.82%.
 
Central Government is vested with powers to deport a foreign national under Section 3(2) (c) of the Foreigners Act, 1946.  The powers to identify and deport illegally staying foreign nationals have also been delegated to the State Governments / UT Administrations.  Number of Pakistani Nationals deported during last three years is given below:-
