Pakistan troops violate ceasefire at LoC in Kupwara

Srinagar, Jul 30 (UNI) Pakistani troops on Tuesday violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara.

Official sources said the Pakistani troops fired with automatic weapons this afternoon, targeting forward posts and villages. “The Indian troops also retaliated,” they said.

However, there was no report of any casualty from this side of the LoC.

Sources said that the Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in a bid to aid the militants to sneak into the Indian side ahead of Independence Day on August 15.

However, they said that the troops are on high alert to foil any infiltration bid from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), where dozens of trained militants are waiting in launch pads to sneak into this side.
